Our 3 Step Guide To Buying Your First Moncler Coat

Our 3 Step Guide To Buying Your First Moncler Coat

  1. USE THE SIZE GUIDE

This may sound super simple, and only really applies if you are buying online, but you would be surprised by how many people don’t utilise the online resources when investing in a brand that uses their own sizing metric. Moncler and many Moncler stockists have detailed and comprehensive sizes guides available to ensure you are buying the right size. You can use this even if buying second hand.

Here is a rough guide to how we convert Moncler sizes on our store when selling preowned coats:

Moncler Size:

Generic Size:

0

XS

1

S

2

S/M

3

M

4

L

5

XL

6

XXL

7

XXXL

*please don’t use this as an accurate size guide, this is a rough outline and we don’t recommend buying a coat based on this chart.

Most Moncler coats fit true to size but certain models such as the Maya fit slightly small and I would suggest sizing up one size.

  1. PICK YOUR FEATURES

E.g. Hood? Fur? Pattern? Which finish? For the most part this is down to personal opinion and will differ depending on if you have a particular style in mind, but, if you’re looking for some guidance and want to know what I would recommend/what will resell the easiest, then this is for you.

Go for hooded – this makes your coat more usable and appropriate for multiple types of weather or terrains, and as Moncler are typically coats for winter, the warmer the better.

No fur – makes your cost much easier to clean and maintain. It will keep in mint condition for much longer in my opinion. Also real fur can be a controversial topic so coats without fur will probably sell better in the future.

Matte finish – this finish marks less and in turn improves the longevity of the piece and give you more chance of being able to resell.

Plain/no pattern –  typically more classic and timeless, making the item easy to resell and will stay in style for much longer, so more likely to be an investment piece.

  1. AUTHENTICATE YOUR COAT

Firstly, if you’re buying brand new stick to the official Moncler site/store or main stockists such as Matches Fashion, Harvey Nichols or Mytheresa, these stores other some of the best selections of new realeases.

If buying second hand I recommend doing research on how to authenticate, such as watching tutorials, or reaching out to third party authenticators.

 Here is the 1 of the easiest ways to check your Moncler item;

On most puffer models they will have a cartoon sewn in on bottom left - check the colour isn’t too bright /opaque. Authentic Moncler have faded/matte cartoons.
